Lease is entering into a contract with the lessee for a long period to use an asset/property. Rent is entering into an agreement with the tenant for a certain period to use an asset/property. Usually leasing contract is signed for long term. Leasing contracts are based on accounting standard. The limit of making rental agreement can exceed to 5 years which means 60 months. But the stamp duty & registration charges may differ in the according to the changes made in rent, deposit, and duration. The leave license agreement can be made for 11 months, 12 months, 3 years and 5 years as per the law.
